Collage artist Kelly Schaub fell in love with mixed media collage and Rockport, Texas in 2015. Prior to this, Schaub spent almost 30 years working in live theatre production and arts administration. She was Executive Director of the Tony-award winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Business Manager/Acting Controller for The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, and Production Stage Manager for Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, touring the country with the weekly live radio show. As a collage artist, Schaub has exhibited and taught locally at Rockport Center for the Arts, Port Aransas Art Center, and Art Center of Corpus Christi. She is an active member of K Space Contemporary, South Texas Art League, Nexus Art Collective, and currently serves as on the Board of Directors of the Rockport Center for the Arts. Schaub’s work is in the Doug + Laurie Kanyer Art Collection, and was featured in the recent book, Collage Care, by Laurie Kanyer, MA. Schaub was a Rockport Center for the Arts merit artist in 2019, and a merit artist at Port Aransas Art Center in 2021. She was honored with a New Normal Rockport grant from the Fine Line Group in 2020. She received Best in Show for the Art Center of Corpus Christi’s All Membership Show in 2022 and will have a solo exhibit in the Kucera Gallery in 2023. She has curated several online collage exhibits, and curated and published six collage collections, with more on the way. She is deeply committed to elevating the medium of collage, and has hosted community collage events in Rockport. She was featured in Kolaj Magazine in 2019 for her work in the local community. Schaub also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rockport Center for the Arts. She teaches a variety of collage classes online and hosts several creative challenges and events for an international audience of collage artists through her website collage-lab.com.

Another way to show your support – BUY ME A COFFEE!
Buying me a coffee will help in two very big ways:
1) Collage-Lab will continue to offer affordable online collage classes (I gave out over $2,400 in scholarships in 2021 alone!)
2) I’m getting ready for a solo exhibit at the Kucera Gallery in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2023. This honor comes from being awarded Best in Show for the Art Center of Corpus Christi’s All Membership Show. A great honor, to be sure, but creating new work, materials, and framing is quite expensive, so your support is greatly appreciated!
Here’s a recent interview with Canvas Rebel – enjoy!
