Abstract mixed media collage on 36″x36″ gallery stretched canvas.
An homage to Hurricane Harvey, this abstract landscape reminds me of the first trip we took outside of our little town after surviving a direct hit from Harvey in 2017. The electrical poles along the highway were all down or leaning severely. Several cars were pulled off to the side of the road in one area, and we were trying to figure out what they were looking at – turns out that overpass was the highest point in the area, and everyone was attempting to get some cellular signal. Many visuals remain stuck in my head from the days and months following Harvey’s devastation, and from time to time, I find them creeping into my work. This is one such example.
