Every Which Way

“Every Which Way” is an original handcut paper collage, on 5”x7” heavy watercolor paper.

This fun little collage, with its buxom cartoon ladies, features great one of a kind vintage imagery and is surely a great conversation piece by the queen of quirky!

Blue Moon

“Blue Moon” is an original handcut paper collage, on 5”x7” heavy watercolor paper.

This fun little collage, which focuses on blues, features great one of a kind vintage imagery, and a fabulous gal with a moon “hat”. It is surely a great conversation piece by the queen of quirky!

That is All

“That is All” is an original handcut paper collage, on 5”x7” heavy watercolor paper.

This fun little monochromatic collage, featuring a big stage number, is surely a great conversation piece by the queen of quirky! It makes me want to say “TA DA!”

A protective finish completes this OOAK work of art, and it is ready to pop into a frame to highlight any décor.

City Parking

“City Parking” is an original mixed media collage on 11×14 illustration board.

Lots of layers. Layers of paper. Layers of acrylic paint. This cityscape is almost other-worldly in its muted color palette and mixed paper textures. I decided to add some vintage automobiles – one flying in from outer space – as we all struggle to find that elusive good parking spot in the city.

In The Driveway

“In the Driveway” is an original, handcut paper/mixed media collage on 5×7 matboard.

Another juxtaposition. Here I love the rather childlike look and feel of the painted text and the house cut-out. Add a flashy car from yesteryear and BAM! We’re not in suburbia anymore.

The background text is from my vintage car club buddy’s newsletter collection – transformed into sky and landscape with a bit of acrylic. An old atlas gives us the house (it’s Kentucky, as I thought of “My Old Kentucky Home” when I cut it out – corny, I know). But the pièce de résistance is the car. I cut it in half, and now I don’t remember the year, make, or model, but it was quite rare and collectible. And it’s shiny and red!

q car

“q car” is an original, hand-cut, paper collage on 5×7 matboard.

Vintage papers, handwriting book, transferred image.

“q car” – I love this vintage car interior – the staging of their photo to include purse and gloves is so classic! Coupled with the handwriting lesson, which focused on the capital Q, I decided to riff on the old Chrysler K Car – anyone remember those?

Very Fine

“Very Fine” is an original, hand-cut, paper collage on 5×7 matboard.

Vintage papers, sourced from children’s books, an old auto collector newsletter, a handwriting textbook, and more.

The girl’s blouse is hand-colored and the purple circles play off of the design from an old drafting reference.

“Very Fine” – a term used by collectors, though it is not used in everyday descriptive talk much anymore. A vintage phrase for a vintage combination of images.

Flower Girl

“Flower Girl” is an original mixed media quirky collage on a solid pine cradle with a 4mm birch surface. Panel measures 10×10 inches – 1.5 inch gallery depth.

Our “girl” is strutting her stuff in fishnet stockings and high heels – her killer legs come from a vintage girlie magazine, and her face, at the center of the collaged flower, on a rusty old washer for added dimension, is femme fatale, Marlene Dietrich! The luscious oranges continue onto the sides of the panel, which is ready to hang with no need for framing. The flower is vintage book pages, painted and lined with ink.
