This 3-dimensional blue/gray butterfly is ready to spread its wings and almost fly out of its shadowbox. Created with artist-painted heavy watercolor paper, acrylics, ink and graphite, and constructed with wooden skewers, wire, hand-sewn jute edges, and vintage Tinker Toys, this mixed media treat is truly one-of-a-kind.
The wooden box is a solid pine cradle with a 4mm birch surface. Panel measures 10×10 inches – 1.5 inch gallery depth, stained a warm maple and is ready to hang with a sawtooth hanger or sit on a shelf.
“Shadow Blue” was awarded Third Place in Mixed Media by Juror George Ann Johnson for the Dimension XLVI Show at the Art Center of Corpus Christi!
